Condition:

in a very fine carved and giltwood contemporary English frame; oil on canvas which has been lined; canvas tension is good and the picture is in plane; paint layer is in a stable condition with a regular age craquelure pattern; the varnish is matte and dull with an uneven gloss surrounding the age cracks; there is a layer of surface dirt and some fly spots. the frame is missing the decorative moulding at the upper corners
