Provenance:

:~Painted in 2007~Maningrida Arts and Culture, Maningrida~Superannuation Fund of William Nuttall and Annette Reeves~~Namunjdja was taught to paint the stories of his clan by his esteemed artist father Peter Marralwanga. By the time he was twenty years of age, the artist had won the Rothman's Foundation Award for best painting in a traditional media, followed by the Telstra Bark Painting Award at the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award in 2006.~~At the beginning of 2000, Namunjdja moved away from his father's figurative representation in favour of Kuninjku elder, John Mawurndjul's rarrk abstraction of Mardayin design.
