Provenance:

The artist's estate auction february 1849 no. 79, sold to Collin. Inscribed on a label on the reverse: “Forevist den 25. juli 1918 Herr direktør Karl Madsen og Dr. Phil Hertz på Kunstmuseet, begge erklærede, at billedet er malet af M. Rørbye”. Presented on the 25th of July 1918 to Chief Curator Karl Madsen and Dr. Phil Hertz on the national gallery, both declared, it was painted by M. Rørbye. Bruun Rasmussen auction 732, 2004 no. 2055
