Condition:

unframed: 82 by 82.5cm.; 32¼ by 32½in. The board appears sound and bows slightly to the lower left corner. The work appears in very good overall condition. There is an abrasion to the upper right corner with associated small loss to board and paint. Two further spots of paint loss to the centre of the lower edge. A few further minor abrasions to the edges elsewhere with some minor specks of associated paint loss. A couple of small spots of loss in the lower left hand quadrant. A couple of spots of staining to the upper edge. A few tiny specks of rubbing to raised areas of volcanic ash. Some surface detritus in the lower portion of the work. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of retouching or restoration. Unframed.
