~Acquired directly from the artist ~A private collection, UK~~Ismael Kateregga studied Industrial and Fine Arts at Makerere University in Uganda before beginning his career as a painter. Kateregga explores local themes depicting daily activities as in the chaos of urban Kampala, the trends and social challenges affecting society. His use of media is a combination of oils, acrylics and egg tempera. Kateregga has held ten solo Exhibitions in Kampala, six in Nairobi, and one in London at the Royal Commonwealth Club in 2009. His work has been regularly featured at the East African Art Biennale, Dar es Salaam.
