Condition:
The masonite panel is sound and there is a wooden stretcher support fixed to the verso. There is a glossy varnish which is difficult to read through, however examination under UV light appears to reveal some retouching along the right edge and the upper right corner, to the centre of the upper edge and in places along the left and lower edge. There is some further retouching visible in the background towards the centre of the upper edge and to the body of the jug and to the light yellow shapes. There are a few fine lines of stable craquelure in the background above the blue shapes. There is some minor old frame abrasion along the extreme edges notably in the lower right and upper left corners. The surface is richly textured and well preserved. This work is in overall fairly good condition. Please note: Condition XVI of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot.
