incised with the artist’s signature and date "T STAMOS '47" lower left; signed, titled and dated "Theodoros Stamos "Jewel of MEMORY" 1947" on the reverse

Condition:

The work is in very good condition overall. There are scattered nicks and inconsistencies in places, inherent to the nature of the Masonite, most noticeably to the extreme edges and not visible when framed. There are two small drips to the lower edge, possibly originating from the artist's studio. When examined under ultraviolet light, there is a varied fluorescence to the surface, mostly to the outer edges in the dark purple pigment. The work is framed in a gilded silver frame.
