Condition:
The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc., New York, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's: This work is in excellent condition. It is painted onto a flat piece of Masonite. The paint layer is stable and clean. The gloss visible in many of the colors is original to the artist. There is no other varnish applied. There are a few tiny dots of retouching in a few places around the extreme edges. There is one small retouching in the lower right corner of the white rectangle in the upper center. No other retouches have been applied throughout the remainder of the picture. There is an area that reads darker under ultraviolet light in the large white shape in the center left, but this does not correspond to retouching. The same holds true for an area on the thin white rectangle in the upper left quadrant. The work is in excellent condition and should be hung in its current state. Framed Dimensions: 17 1/4 by 21 1/4 in. (43.8 by 53.9 cm.)
