Possibly acquired by Alessandro Farnese in Flanders, and by descent in the Farnese collection, Parma, to Elisabetta Farnese; Possibly her son, Carlo di Borbone (1716-1788), by whom brought to Naples in 1734 when he was crowned Carlo III; Possibly the picture mentioned in the inventory `dei mobile, degli oggetti preziosi, della libreria, della quadreria, del medagliere, dell’armeria e di quanto contenevasi nel Ducal palazzo di Parma’ kept in the Archivio di Stato di Napoli, no. 237: Quadro in tavola con cornice dorata, alto oncie nove, largo oncie sette.
