unframed: 92 x 123cm.; 36¼ x 48½ in. The canvas is lined. A craquelure pattern across the surface. Surface appears slightly dirty and some occasional spots of discoloured paint and blemishes, mostly within sky and along top edge. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque and uneven varnish. Areas of retouching along each edge. Three areas of retouching in the sky above the left hand boat; two areas within the hull of the boat and another area in the sea near lower right corner. Further instances of retouching elsewhere in the picture. Held in a gilt plaster frame.
