Markings:
The canvas has a firm relining, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. There are fine lines of discoloured retouchings throughout her flesh tones, to reduce the appearance of craquelure. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms these. It also reveals retouchings in the white section of her proper right sleeve and to two repaired damage in the pink drapery lower centre (approx. 3 x 10cm. and 6 x 3cm.), along the margins, and a few further small spots scattered in the background and the rest of her dress. The painting is in fair overall condition.
