Condition:
The paint surface is abraded with losses along a 3-5 inch area at edges all around. The losses at lower right, left and center are unstable. There are stretcher marks in the canvas all around. A 6 inch scratch at upper left as well as several smaller scratches throughout. The black pigments at lower left and right bottom center have cracking lifting and losses.
Provenance:
Harvey Leyton Schwartz Thence by descent to the current owner This painting as well as the preceding lot were acquired by Harvey L. Schwartz circa 1965-68 during an information gathering trip to India while working for Rodman Rockefeller at IBEC, (International Basic Economy Corporation). Most of IBEC's business ventures were focused on Latin America, but Harvey L. Schwartz was sent to Thailand and India in the mid to late 1960s, where he purchased these paintings.
