Condition:

This work is in good condition overall. The edges of the canvas are paper taped. There is evidence of light wear and handling to the edges and corners, with associated hairline craquelure at the pull margins. Under close inspection, there are faint stretcher bar marks along the edges. Textural variations to the surface appear inherent to the artist’s working method and chosen medium. Under further close inspection, there is minor hairline craquelure as well as a few unobtrusive losses scattered throughout. Not visible in normal viewing conditions, there are several nailhead sized holes scattered throughout the lower third of the canvas, which have been repaired with patches on the reverse. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, several areas throughout, including the aforementioned repairs, fluoresce darkly and appear to have benefitted from restoration. Framed.
