Condition:

The canvas appears to be original and undulates slightly. There are minor frame abrasions to the upper, left, and lower edges with associated small instances of loss, as well as more minor instances elsewhere. There are stretcher bar marks across the upper, left, and right edges, with associated fine lines of cracking. There is a further stretcher bar mark to the centre, with a few associated specks of loss, towards the lower edge in the yellow of the grass. There is a scuff in the area where the leaves touch the wall. There is a light layer of dirt, dust and studio detritus to the surface of the work. This excepting, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Inspection under Ultraviolet light reveals several very minor instances of retouching to the foliage in the right half of the work.
