There appears to be craquelure and light surface grime throughout; under UV exam, there appears to be a small approx. .5 inch thin line of inpainting through lower trunks of trees ontop of bridge and another same sized line above two small rocks near lower right edge; five tiny specks of inpainting scatttered in snow in lower half of work

It was painted by Julian Onderdonk sometime between 1901-1909, when he was studying at the Arts Student League of New York and attending William Merritt Chase's summer art school in Shinnecock, NY. While there are many landscapes from this period, there are relatively few paintings of New York City.
