Condition:

The following condition report has been provided by Alvarez Conservation Services, New York, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's: Overall Condition: This watercolor painting on paper is in good condition overall. Structural Condition: The paper is structurally intact and does not present tears or paper losses. Exposure to humidity has caused mild cockling throughout the sheet. Mild adhesive residue is present in the recto edges, likely original to execution. Visual Condition: The paper is mildly oxidized from contact with acidic material and a natural process of aging due to light exposure. This is visible throughout the sheet. A mild mat burn is visible around the perimeter of the page. Very selective inpainting with watercolor pencil has been applied in the recto bottom-left edge at a mildly abraded area. The media is otherwise well preserved and the colors remain vibrant. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The condition report is provided to assist you with assessing the condition of the lot and is for guidance only. Any reference to condition in the condition report for the lot does not amount to a full description of condition. The images of the lot form part of the condition report for the lot.
