Condition:

Original canvas, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition. A small spot of possible historic loss to the lower left corner. A couple of very tiny possible frame abrasions to the extreme edges, and a tiny fleck of surface matter in the lower right quadrant. A fine line of craquelure just to the left of the green fish, with a further spot to the sea, and one or two fine lines elsewhere. Some light surface dirt and a few minor specks of matter in places. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a wooden frame.
