Edition:

The canvas has been relined (glue). The painted surface seems to be in good condition. Some small retouchings and damages can be seen in the upper half of the dark cloud in the centre. Some discoloured retouchings in the lower centre can be seen. Some strengthening can be observed in the darker areas of the waves. The craquelure pattern, visible mainly in the lighter areas, is rather fine. UV: the varnish layer fluoresces largely showing rather extensive retouchings foremostly in the sky area, and some to the darker parts of the foreground as well. Frame: black veneer wooden frame.
