Condition:

unframed: 45 by 71cm.; 17¾ by 28in. The board appears sound. The board bows very slightly. The work appears in very good overall condition. There are a few faint scuffs to the work including to the sky and diagonally above the lamp post and through the tower into the sky, only visible upon close inspection. A few very small specks of staining and matter in places. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals fluorescence and probable retouching to the aforementioned scuff, and fluorescence and retouching to the right edge of the composition, some further possible retouching in the lower left hand corner. There is further fluorescence in the sky that appears to be the Artist reworking the composition. The work is held in a slip and wooden frame.
