Condition:
This work is in good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling visible along the edges and corners, with associated pinpoint losses and fine hairline cracking at the turning edges. The canvas is slightly slack on the stretcher. Upon close inspection, there are unobtrusive areas of hairline cracking scattered throughout, and a corresponding minute, triangle shaped loss near the upper right corner. Under raking light, stretcher bar impressions are visible along all four edges, with associated hairline cracking. There is a small hole in the canvas directly left of the artist's signature, which exposes unpainted canvas. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, a few small areas, predominantly near the bottom edge, fluoresce darkly and appear to have benefitted from retouching. Framed. Framed dimensions: 42 ½ by 24 ¼ in. (108 by 61.6 cm.)
