Provenance:
The artist; By descent to the present owner. Harold Roney is not a native Texan, nevertheless, Texas was his home. Having trained in Chicago at the Art Academy and the Art Institute as well as studying with famed American artists Harry Leith Ross and John Folinsbee in Pennsylvania, his was firmly rooted in the tradition of American landscape artists. Roney settled in Texas and painted with artists Harry A. de Young and Paul Schuman. Utilizing both brush and palette knife, Roney captures the Texas hill country in a traditional western tone. Heritage Auctions is proud to be offering a limited number of works from his estate.
