Condition:
oil on alabaster, unframed The alabaster stone is planar and stable. The natural edges of the stone are visible, including the slightly curved lower right edge. The painting appears to be in overall good condition. The image reads strongly, with details well preserved. Inspection under UV reveals some small and scattered well-applied retouches here and there in the figures, in the lower foreground and in the shadows of the upper edge of the marble stone at lower left. Small scattered retouches at the edges, in particular near the center of the left edge around the figure of Saint Elizabeth. One line of retouching through the arm of Saint John the Baptist. Some brushier strengthening in the clouds near the putti, and in the upper right corner. Offered unframed
