Provenance:

full figures already; in private collection in Turin from the Zerbone collection (G. Papi 2015 cit. page 139 table XLIII). The probable origin from Palazzo Spinola in Genoa suggests for the prototype of our composition a date to the short Genoese stay of Cavarozzi in 1617 shortly before the trip to Spain following the Marquis Crescenzi. This is in any case confirmed by the stylistic and compositional outcomes of this invention in the Genoese area immediately perceived in the works of Domenico Fiasella Giovanni Andrea de Ferrari and even Andrea Ansaldo proving the fortune of this image however widely replicated in the Ligurian area
