As is typical of the ferrotyping process, a slight unevenness of the generally glossy surface and minor pitting are visible in raking light. Scattered deposits of original retouching and a 1-1/2-inch soft crease in the lower left quadrant are also visible only in raking light. There are tack holes at three corners. At the lower right corner, there is a small loss to the tip and a 1/4-inch crease. The edges of the print are slightly bowed upward. The reverse is age-darkened at the edges and soiled.
