Condition:

The painting has been relined and the surface is stable albeit a little flattened. The paint surface is well preserved. Under ultraviolet light inspection a limited amount of retouching is evident in the upper part of the sky and along the right-hand margin particularly towards the bottom. Otherwise, the painting is relatively unaffected by later intervention and remains in very good overall condition. Held in a later, plaster and gilt wood Carlo Maratta style frame.
