Label: Douglas Billen Studio, Lakewood, Colorado.'; Altermann Galleries label verso; label verso with restoration noted from an unnamed conservator 'June 1989 Cleaned- not stripped and varnished with Liquitex Gloss Soluvar acrylic spirit varnish. Note: This painting is an overpaint of other work. The newer paint is not adhering well to the older work. Did some touch-up and fill on flaked spots. This painting would probably benefit from mounting to a solid support, i.e. Masonite, to reduce expansion and contraction. June 20, 1989 Mounted on Masonite with Franklin Hide Glue and braced.'
Condition:
Very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals inpainting in a few areas. There is a small spot approximately 17 inches from the top and 5 inches down from the top and another small spot in the upper right, approximately 3.5 inches down
