lined canvas; there appears to be several folding and handling creases as well as couple areas of craquelure and surface grime throughout; fingers of right hand appear to be lightly skinned; under uv exam, there appears to be an approx. 3 inch horizontal line of inpainting through left hand, an approx. 4 inch horizontal line of inpainting through waist and holster of figure, and an approx. 3 inch vertical line in bottom of figure's vest - all to address surface scratches; otherwise, an uneven and discolored varnish layer makes this work difficult to read
