During his thirty-plus year career, he has exhibited nationally and internationally, in a number of solo and group exhibitions including: The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, School 33 Art Center, Baltimore, The Center of African-American History and Culture, Smithsonian Institute, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC Sorrells-Adewale has traveled to West Africa, Brazil, China and Europe where he co-presented workshops at the Academies of Fine Arts in Geneva and Palermo In February of 1999, Towson University, Towson, MD honored him with its 1989 Distinguished Black Marylanders Award in the Arts
