Markings:

The copper plate is flat and stable. The paint surface is clean, with a very slightly discoloured varnish. There are surface scratch marks scattered along the edges, and the network of craquelure appears quite distinctly, giving the paint surface a pronounced texture, which is most visible under raking light. The surface should probably be consolidated. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals concentrated spots of retouching scattered in the aforementioned areas, where the network of craquelure has become more pronounced, as well as fine lines of retouching also to areas of craquelure in the background, around Christ's head, in his hair, and in his chin. The painting is in overall fair condition.
