The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc., an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's: This work on paper has been mounted onto a piece of board. The board is slightly concave, but this can be reduced when the work is installed in its frame. The paint layer has been lightly cleaned and varnished. Retouches have been applied beneath the “B? of “Bierstadt,? in two areas in the water in the lower center, and in a few small dots in the lower right. There are a few isolated dots of retouching around the sun, in a small group in the lower right sky, and in a few other spots in the upper left corner of the work. The work should be hung as is. Framed dimensions: 22 by 28 in. (55.9 by 71.1 cm.)
