Signed and dated to the left edge "Deshayes 1820"

Illus. and described in: Schidlof, Miniature in Europe, Graz 1964, vol. III, pl. 169 no. 316; vol. I, p. 201. Schidlof presents this miniature as proof of the existence of this artist, who he localises to England due to his use of gum arabic.
