Victor Cirefice

(British , b. 1949 )

Vittorio was born in Anglesey, Wales and studied Fine Art in Manchester and at Chelsea under Norman Blarney R.A., and at the Royal Academy under Peter Greenham. For four years in a row he won a David Murray Landscape prize to paint in rural areas throughout the summer, which he did at home and abroad. In addition he drew frequently at the Royal College of Surgeons and, upon graduation, was offered a post in anatomical illustration at the Royal College, but chose instead to move to Co. Down where he has lived since. In 1977 Victor won a British Council scholarship to the Academia Perugia which lead, some twenty three years later, to a major commission for a set of Stations of the Cross for La Chiesa St. Barbato in Lazio, Rome. His works are now exhibited publicly and privately including the National Gallery of Wales, the Courtaulds Institute and the Academia Perugia in Italy as well as in homes and businesses right across Ireland, making him without doubt one of the country's most celebrated living artists
