Painter Rachel Howard was born in England in 1969, graduated from Goldsmith's College, London University (1992), and lives in London. She became was studio assistant for Damien Hirst from 1992-1996, and has had solo exhibitions of her work at the Museum Van Loon, Amsterdam; Haunch of Venison, London; Gagosian Gallery, Los Angeles and the Bohen Foundation, New York. She has recently completed a major commission of 14 paintings titled 'Repetition is Truth - Via Dolorosa'. Her work has also been in recent group shows such as Mythologies at Haunch of Venison, London; M25 around London, the Centre of Contemporary Art, Andratx, Spain and In The Darkest Hours There Will Be Light - works from the Damien Hirst Murderme Collection, at the Serpentine Gallery in 2007. Thomas Krens included her work in the 2004 exhibition he organized at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in Salzburg. Her paintings have been the subject of several publications, including "Fiction/Fear/Fact" published by Other Criteria in 2007. She is represented by Haunch of Venison (London) and Gagosian (LA).
