Paddy Bird is the eldest son of Ada Bird Petyarre (his father was older brother of Lindsay Bird Mpetyane). He lives at Utopia with wife Eileen Bird and family. Paddy began painting during the 1980’s with other men and women of his camp. His paintings reflect stories associated with Ilkawerne, Aremela, Bushy Park and country around Harper Springs. All these areas are south of Utopia. Paddy and Eileen have eleven children of whom many are now painters.
