Nigel Milsom was born in Albury, New South Wales in 1975. Currently Sydney based, he completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of Newcastle in 1998, then undertook postgraduate studies at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney.
