Miriam Hanid is best known for her distinctive sculptural silver vessels, centrepieces and tableware. Having been taught by Master silversmiths Rod Kelly and Malcolm Appleby, her signature technique of chasing has been recognised via numerous awards for chasing, silversmithing and design from the Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council. She has created bespoke silverware for individuals and collectors as well as for the Victoria and Albert Museum, Eton College, the Goldsmiths Company and the National Museum of Wales among others. A commission for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, 60 years after her great grandfather's two commissions for Her Majesty in 1952, has been a career high point.
