Lina Zervudaki

Lina came from two large families in Venizelos, Greece and Lesseps in France. After her father died in 1910 and finding herself penniless, she and her mother moved to Paris. While there, she studied painting and drawing with Paul Colin. Later she exhibited at Elsa Schiaparelli for the opening of its Vendome gallery, alongside Alberto and Diego Giacometti and partners with a basket maker located Caroline Street, the Batignolles, to build its first rattan mannequin. She's known for rattan multiples: sets for children, displays, showcases, chairs, cots, tables, etc., a symbol of 'economic chic'...
