Henri Guydo

The Baron Joseph Robert Guillaume Le Barrois Orgeval, born on 22 April 1868 to Teilleul in Channel , takes the pseudonym of Guydo Dolffus in 1888 when Paul asked him to illustrate with others his book Models Artists (ed. Marpon & Flammarion). Subsequently, he also signs GO and sometimes Henri Guydo. He begins by contributing as satirical cartoonist for magazines such as Gil Blas , Le Triboulet, I know all or even the Journal for all. In 1892 , he shared the artistic direction of Laughter and New Voices, collaboration that lasted until the 1920s to the world of the press, he was a tireless draftsman: the forty periodicals published between 1890 and 1930, of which L 'Butter Plate. His posters show first style Art Nouveau as Amara Blanqui (1893), Eden Casino Trouville-sur-Mer , Aimee Eymard, Liquor Hanappier, Agenda Buvard the Bon Marché. In 1905, he began a collaboration with La Semaine de Suzette which was to last until his death, during which he illustrated twenty books in the series "The Library of Suzette". In 1907, he published the humorous album The Tribulations of a blue dunce (ed. Delagrave). From 1911, he exhibited his paintings at the Salon of independent artists but also comedians Fair.
