Gwyneth ap Tomos was born in Caeathro near Caernarfon in 1937. Gwyneth ap Tomos and her husband, Dafydd, rescued Plas Glyn y Weddw in the last quarter of the 20th century when the building was saved from impending dereliciotn by their sheer determination, and was once again opened as a public gallery. As a tribute to Gwyneth and Dafydd, a room at the Plas exhibiting the work of our best artists has been named 'Oriel Ap Tomo
