He is born in Tokyo. Studied at the school of Hakubakai and with Fujishima Takeji at Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He exhibited paintings at Bunten, Teiten, and Nitten. Furthermore he is a member of Saiko Nihon Bijutsuin, an important art exhibition organisation. He designed moku hanga woodblock prints in 1930s.
