Kho Liang Ie was born in 1927 of Chinese parents. With the Indonesian independence in 1949, he came to the Netherlands, where he began initially with a medication study, which study he soon began training at the Rietveld Academy . After graduating in 1954 he became a member of the foundation Goed Wonen , from 1957 to 1963 and was editor of the magazine of the same. From 1958 until his death, he also worked as a furniture designer for Artifort , in addition, he has also designed for Bruynzeel and Mosa .
