Excellency Hartvig Frederik Emil von Benzon, son of a chamberlain, landowner Christian Frederik Otto von Benzon to Christiansdal (Dalum Convent) at Odense. As Hartvig Frederick was not the eldest son, his father bought him an Austro-Hungarian office patent. In 1844 he married the heir of an estate Emilie von Dorry der Jobterhazar, née Lazar. While he was serving in the Austro-Hungarian army, they stayed most of the time on her estate in Hungary. After her death in 1871 he returned to Christiansdal where he died 13 November 1875 - a few months after his father.
