signed and indistinctly dated lower right: P.BREVGHEL 1622; the reverse incised with the panel maker's mark of a clover leaf for Michiel Claessens, the year stamp A for 1621-22, and branded with the coat-of-arms of the city of Antwerp (fig 1)
