(20.6.1948 – Sanov, Czech Republic) From 1963 to 1967, Zdenek Netopil studied at Middle School of Applied Arts in Brno, specialized in applied graphics. After graduation, he underwent a compulsory military service and then worked at the State Theatre in Brno as a first banner painter of advertisement. Besides, he worked as a mime at the Theatre “Husa na provázku“ at the same time. In 1973, Netopil was admitted to the studio of promotional graphics (Weidlich professor), Aceademy of Applied Arts in Prague. In 1979, afer completion of the undergraduate, he started working as a private artist in various companies, agencies and publishers in the areas of promotional graphics, typography, calligraphy, book and journal illustrations. His current work focuses in drawing, painting and free graphics.
