Funda Alkan was born in Izmir in 1985. She finished Alsancak Cumhuriyet Anadolu Vocational High School in 2003. She graduated from the Painting-Work Teaching Department in the Buca Institute of Education at Dokuz Eylül University in 2007. Since then, she has continued her master’s degree at the Painting Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University. Alkan has had several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Turkey. In 2007, she won a special prize from the Turgut Pura Foundation in the 26th Painting Sculpture Competition
